Reasoning

R. Linda:

You will be happy to know I rang up me old boss and asked for me old job back and more good news, I got it. I start in three weeks. That gives me enough time for the two week notice thing here, and moving back across country. Mind you, I have no furniture to return to, no apartment, but I do have an assortment of odd friends who have all offered to take me in; as if I were homeless, but I guess I be that. I put in me notice and was met with icy silence. I was asked if I had thought me decision through and was there some problem in the workplace? Begorrah me, how does one say, well sir, the hours spent doing pretty much nothing has me bored out of me skull?

I made me a wee list I be sure you can appreciate.

REASONS TO STAY IN SAN FRANCISCO

1. It's California
2. It doesn't snow
3. Lots of beautiful women (even if they are plastic)
4. I sold all my furniture back in Beantown
5. I live in a nice apartment (just kidding)
6. I could learn to earn money as a slacker
7. There is a lot of fun vineyards I need to visit
8. I need to buy one of me bestest friends a lot of dark chocolate

REASONS TO GO BACK TO BEANTOWN

1. I miss Boston
2. I miss Boston
3. I miss Boston
4. I miss Boston
5. I miss Boston
6. I miss Boston
7. I miss Boston
8. That would be You of dark chocolate fame

Then later when I could not sleep from tossing and turning, I made me a list which will show just how confused I have become.

Boston = blizzards                         -              San Francisco = earthquakes
Boston = large Irish population        -              San Francisco = gay men
Boston = Krispy Cremes                 -             San Francisco = nothing but Starbucks
Boston = Tonya                             -              San Francisco = Pee cat
Boston = normal crazies                 -              San Francisco = psychotic maniacs
Boston = Fenel Hall                        -              San Francisco = Union Square lesbians
Boston = swan boats                      -              San Francisco = shrimp boats
Boston = MIT ROMNEY                 -              San Francisco = no one as amusing as MIT
Boston = me homies                      -              San Francisco = me keep to themselves neighbours
Boston = street vendors                 -              San Francisco = expensive restaurants I can't afford
Boston = WORK                            -              San Francisco = slacking off and getting paid for it

I miss the snow bracing cold winds of Boston whipping around the building corners. I miss the sun since here it is mostly cloudy all the time. If I wanted to live that way, I'd work in London. So that's what I be doing, moving BACK to the civilisation I know and appreciate.
