ABC Evening News Frustrates The Hell Out Of Me!

R. Linda:

Is it me? Or does everyone in America appreciate the way ABC Evening News handles itself? Just last night, there was the story about the flooding of the Mississippi River and there standing in knee-deep water was Steve Osunami. Who, by the way, finds picturesque settings to be seen in as he starts walking towards the camera with his report. The man does a scouting of disaster scenes to set the mood and I give him props for that. Anyway, there was all kinds of trash floating around Steve and he said there was raw sewage as well. Steve decided to get a water analysis for the people living in the area. Yes, he did. Like they'd need one. All you have to do is look at the water to see there be no way anyone but Steve, would want to wade in it or drink it. Come on! And then anchorwoman Diane Sawyer asks Steve to let her know Wednesday night what the analysis is. WHAT?

Come on Diane, take a guess!

Does ABC think their viewership is stupid? I for one, cannot wait until the hard-eyed, mean-faced Katie Couric leaves CBS and they replace her with Scott Pelley. When I heard they tapped Scott for the job, I thought to meself, "GOOD someone who looks like an anchor, acts like an anchor and is creditable." I be counting down the days for Couric to leave and Pelley to step in and then no more disbelieving Ms. Sawyer of the fuzzy screen so you can't see her wrinkles, and the laser surgery jaw to keep those jowls up. Yup, no more Ms. Sawyer sifting through the flood-ravaged waters of the Mighty Mississippi wearing waders that made her look ridiculous and then drifting through to Beale Street in jeans that made her arse look as wide as the Mississippi. Yes, I be so grateful CBS has got Pelley on the way. Natty dresser, nice looking older gent, that one can't help but have confidence in.

Oh, and Brian Williams, I like Mr. W and think he's got a wicked sense of humour, but I couldn't leave go that Sawyer would be as bad as she is and ABC would drag Charlie Gibson back to fix things. But isn't gonna happen, so CBS here I come!
