R. Linda:
No, I haven't started my new job yet. The reason was they were giving me a week to get meself settled. If anything, I be more unsettled than I have been in me short life. I sit here thinking I feel something breathing on me neck, but no there is nothing there. The place settles in your brain and does strange things to it. I was sitting here contemplating the wall and wondering if I scraped some of that "paint" off and sent it to a lab would it come back as, gulp, real blood?
I was hoping to find a Krispy Kreme place so I could buy some glazed doughnuts, freeze them and use them to pelt the unknowns at night. I be sure the creepy crawlies live with me and I don't know it yet. I await the unwelcome and undead because I don't think I'll get a lick of sleep tonight. I was hoping to make a lot of new friends, not fiends. And how does one invite them to this place? I mean what would the explanation be? I be a part-time vampire? Reporter by day, bloodsucker by night?
I did go out and buy a supply of crucifixes and put them around the place. I have as I type, a large one around my neck along with the garlic bulb necklace and henbane. I don't think I want to spend a lot of time in this creepy Russian palace. I did take another look to see if any other equipment was left lying around. You know the stuff vampires need to survive, like coffins and the like.
Short of tearing up the floorboards, my mind is bouncing all over. While you are back in your probably brightly lit house in the burbs, I be sitting here in Dracula's castle awaiting the night. Why do I think it gets very active in here when the sun goes down?
I do think I have another use for that gas fireplace. Instead of lighting the gas flue, I figure if things get too bad, I can put me head in there and just INHALE.
