R. Linda:
I was offered a job in San Francisco at a sister paper of the one I be working at here in Boston. I have been looking to better meself and up popped this position, and I jumped at it. Lo and behold, I got it! Talk about the luck of the Irish. I have been out of communicato because I have been busy getting ready for me big move.
It be ever so lovely of you to ask after yours truly's well being. I sold off nearly everything here. Be a real pity if I have to come back. I'd ask you if you were going to miss me, but hey it will be the same! It is for you, like I be moving down the hall!
I have everything packed that I need. I sent boxes to a storage facility out there for when I arrive. I be subleasing a pretty nice place on Knob Hill and can see Lombard Street (I think from me window). The place belongs to a relative of Ali's. She's in France studying art for a year, so I have a place for that amount of time. It overlooks the city and the bay as well I be told. Should be expensive but Ali convinced her relative I'm a decent guy put poor, and so she took mercy on me Irish pocketbook. Seems the lass has a lot of dough so its no biggy. She was going to let the place sit until she came back and Ali persuaded her not to. So I guess I be all set for me big coastal move. Though I have been warned of the Russian decor. Ali is of Russian heritage and the building is in the Russian section, so jawohl (is that German?) or is it dasvidaniya?
I be sort of looking forward to it, but in another way, I'm going to miss me flat-mates here in Boston. I will basically be by me lonesome, and that's the way it was when I arrived in Boston. I be sure it will be a good experience. I am, as you rightly put forth, keeping me online account so I can be abreast on Weasil's new "jobby job job" (good Lord but I can't picture him dispensing drugs -- Pharmacologist indeed!), and I must know if you will ever update your hairstyle from short to long, and to make sure it continues to snow in Denver. And lastly, will Jordie marry his housekeeper or the the UPS driver? I need to know all this, I know, I know, to most people this is all minutiae but to me, it is important minutiae in the world of movers and shakers. Well, sort of.
