R. Linda:
I have a nasty cold. It is finally giving up the ghost, and I am returning to normal. I took one day off from work because I couldn't get out of bed; it was that bad. But on the days I did not, I self-medicated meself with over-the-counter cold remedies that did not do much. I kept from having a scratchy throat by sipping chai tea all day. Usually, on my way home from work, I'd stop at Dunks and order the chai and sip it on the way to the abode. The other night, it tasted a wee bit off. When I finished it, I threw it in the bin when the top came off and inside was congealed tea mix. It looked like poop it did. That turned me stomach that they never thoroughly mixed it and the end visual result was less than pleasing. So the next night, I did not stop at Dunks in Massachusetts; I waited until I was over the New Hampshire state line and stopped there. I also ordered a coffee for Tonya, so I didn't sip me tea right away. I had a coughing spell and had to pull to the side of the road, and it was there I took my first sip of hot tea to quell the fit. It tasted weak; actually, it tasted like nothing. I continued to sip it on the way home to keep from coughing me fool head off. When I got inside the abode, I removed the lid, and it was nothing more than a large cup of hot water! What is going on with Dunks? I wanna know.
Me life seems to be going topsy-turvy. Sunday night, when me cold was not too bad, we were invited to a friend's for dinner, kiddos included. We had a lovely time, me cold behaved and stayed at bay, but the fates were not going to let me off so easily. After dinner, the adults were having after-dinner drinks (except for me, who was nursing me cold with real tea this time), and the kiddos had gone out to play flashlight tag. This couple has a koi pond a bit smaller than ours, and they have put slate around it. We had the time shift backwards, so it was dark, and we had heavy rain, so the slate was slick. My eldest, O'Hare, was too near the pond, slipped on the slate tiles, fell in the pond and slit the top of his ear so the cartilage was showing. Yes, he was a bloody mess, but he didn't seem to know how badly he had hurt himself. He was more about getting dry.

Yes, he was a bloody mess, but he didn't seem to know how badly he had hurt himself. He was more about getting dry.
Tonya saw the cartilage first and pointed to it, and we all looked at her, saying, "I think an ER visit is in order." This set the youngster off with 'WHAT?" He had no clue, and we weren't going to tell him. But his middle brother saw the white bone and said, "You need stitches, probably a hundred of 'em'." Thank you, Guido! So now the lad wanted to look for a mirror to see for himself. Well, our hostess had found dry clothes he could wear, so he got dressed. I then escorted him to the car, and off we went. I had him strapped in the passenger seat and hoped he wouldn't flip the passenger side mirror down. He didn't think to do that because he was going into shock and chattering at me about senseless stuff non-stop all the way to casualty. Well, six stitches later, he was fixed up, still going on like a magpie about nothing, and I got him home to a Tylenol and bed. His brothers and mom got a ride home from our host and were waiting at the door. He was all smiles like it was a great adventure, still rattling on and Tonya and I exchanged glances, signalling he needed to calm down and go to bed NOW.
Tonya got up through the night to make sure he wasn't bleeding to death, as the wound was still doing that when we arrived home. I am happy to say all is mending, and the kiddo is no worse the wear for it. But the excitement made me cold come at me the next day full force to where I could not get out of bed. I tell ya, just when I thought I had it all handled, this happens where I can't cut a break.
And I mean that about getting a break, I stopped at the Dunks over the state line on me way home today and ordered a latte because you can't screw that up, or so I thought. Look at this:
Because the cup had a cover, I wasn't expecting the mouthful of syrup near the end. I had to pull over and spit it out. STARBUCKS, HERE I COME!

LMAO you're supposed to make your own tea not the crap you bought. And as far as kids, yours are 90 percent angels. You could have had screamers. In other words count your blessings!
Your descriptions are enough for me to never order a Dunks tea, or chai. I am a Starbucks man as it is and very rarely go to Dunkens. That ear, ouchy, ouchy. Hope your lad is better and the stitches are out.
Stitches coming out today!
