1153
R. Linda:
As you may have noticed, there are 10 stories on the blog. I took the rest off, because it was getting rather difficult to maintain 1153 stories. I also wasn't getting much in the way of comments of late, but the silent readership has been "reading," so I kept everything intact for them. However, I decided to eliminate most of the bulk, as I noticed no one seemed to notice the disappearing act, but a few "followers" who wrote me privately that they were upset I was purging the blog and said they understood the why of it, but...
Going through the blog from start to present, I realised how much not only me life but life in general has changed. At the start, the stories are pretty carefree and fun, but as the pandemic hit, they took on a new, more real and worrisome tone, and, up to now, a slightly chaotic tone has crept in. Since I feel I cannot give you, my followers and readers, the carefree and fun experience which was me purpose, it's best to possibly close the blog forever.
I was told I shouldn't do that, but to continue to chronicle what silliness I could find in such tumultuous times for the sanity of some, who say they enjoy the antics of the O'Sullivan family and friends. I must think this over. The stories of recent date have become less and less frequent. I think that will continue, or perhaps it will pick up; I simply don't know right now.
I have a lot of thinking to do. I have not made a decision one way or the other, but I will let you know what I decide.
Gabe

NO! you need a new muse and I'm waving my hand over here, i volunteer for the job. please, please, pick me!
ReplyDeleteNot as simple as that, Fifi. But thank you for the offer.
DeleteWhy not keep it going and include a blast-from-the-past story? I, for one, never get tired of your bunglements, mate, LMAO. But I do understand if you decided to pull out of harbor and sail off. I will miss your mishaps and probably drink myself into a stupor. Be all your fault, Cappy.
ReplyDeleteI could do that. And "bunglements?" LOL Jack. I will give it some thought, not the bunglements, but the past adventures. Geez
DeleteGabe, it is times like these we need you most. The world is in an awful state, and if we can't find humour somewhere, we are all doomed. Please reconsider, but I understand if you decide to close shop.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% with you, Hughes. But it's hard to find funny when nothing is.
DeleteTruly? Come on, Gabe, give it a go, and let's go! You are who you are (I know, brilliant observation on my part), and you're full of the craic. Knock on the kettle and relax, it will all come back. Move back home if you must, Ireland is still a hilarious, if not frustrating, place. Same as you left it.
ReplyDeleteOh, I be sure it is, there, Tomas. A little Irish sunshine be just what I need, NOT. The long and the short of it is that me brain is all sticky from the craziness and high prices I be dealing with. Nothing funny about that. Anyway . . .
DeleteGabbie wotz goin on? Do i hafta come visit yer arse to get a story outa ya? Cuz ya knozs I willy.
ReplyDeleteI'm in fine nick, just not finding anything funny lately. If you visit me, my therapist is going to make so much money off that. So don't do it. No faffin around Weaz, but I'm sure the captain would love to see ya!
DeleteI think I've heard from everyone about your "retirement," as they are all in a spot of bother over it. The Best of British to you and I, know that will send you around the twist, but I can think of no other way to diss this so-called retirement and make you mad enough not to give it up. Even Weaz told me you make him feel like a normal person with your stories, and that's saying summat. Whatever you decide, Gabe, putting out to grass or continuing the good fight, I'm with you all the way. Well, part of the way.
ReplyDeleteOMG, did I get you out of bed? Not heard from you in a horse's age. Ah well, better late than never, LOL. OH, thanks for the Brit luck, now I won't get any, not that I have any luck as everyone knows. You all are making me feel terrible about this. I haven't decided yet on what to do. If I could give meself a raise I'd reconsider.
